By combining visual arts with language learning, this printable sheet helps reinforcement memory and recognition of the specific hand signs used in the deaf community.
Understanding the Letter S Hand Sign
This high-quality coloring page features a clear, bold outline of the ASL sign for the letter "S". Visually, the sign consists of a closed fist where the thumb wraps across the front of the fingers (unlike the letter A, where the thumb is on the side). The illustration captures these details precisely, making it an excellent reference for students practicing their finger spelling and manual dexterity.

Coloring Suggestions
We recommend using colored pencils or wax crayons to practice shading different skin tones, bringing realism to the hand sign. For the background or the letter text, allow children to use bright markers or gel pens to make the artwork pop. Whether used as part of a lesson plan or a standalone activity, this coloring page makes learning the letter S fun and inclusive.
